THE EVENT

Historically Black College and University Scholarship Gala: History Is Legacy (HBCU Scholarship Gala: History Is Legacy) awards college scholarships to Detroit-area high school and college students.

The event is intended to strengthen support, increase HBCU enrollment, and acknowledge the accomplishments of HBCU alum. It serves to demonstrate the importance of HBCU institutions to our collective future.

The
Historically Black College and University Scholarship Gala: History Is Legacy (HBCU Scholarship Gala: History Is Legacy) inaugural event takes place in Detroit, on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Detroit-Dearborn, located at 5801 Southfield Fwy. in Detroit (MI 48228) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m..

PURPOSE

Our mission is to bring the HBCU experience to Detroit through a series of event experiences. Our goal is to provide current HBCU students and high school seniors from the Metro Detroit area with scholarships in their pursuit of a college degree from an HBCU.
